As President of SAID (the Student Association of Industrial Designers), Jugraj expanded the group's focus beyond events to student advocacy and membership growth. His efforts created meaningful change, including pathways for students to graduate a year earlier through the removal of restrictive prerequisites. He would later receive an award for this work.

In 2023, Jugraj was among a few students selected to work with Open City Projects and staff from the City of Mississauga to Design for Diversity. In 2025, he would work with staff at Toronto City Hall to address issues such as transportation.

In 2024, Jugraj and 12 other students visited Pokhara, Nepal to work with vulnerable communities, as well as survivor-led organizations such as SASANE, to end human trafficking.
